Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!

Today is my mom's and dad's four year anniversary! So far, things seem to be going pretty well. They sure seem happy together, and especially happy to be starting this new parenting adventure. As part of their wedding vows, they said:

"I promise not to lose you as we continue to create us,
Not to lose use as we create our family,
And not to lose our family as I continue to find myself."

So far, so good.

In other news, my trip to Colorado was lots of fun! I met so many fun people... and apparently I'm related to most of them! Here are a few photos, and Dad's promised to make another video soon.

Also, when I got back to North Carolina I had another adventure: I went swimming! Mom and Dad took me to the pool on Monday (July 14) and took me in for a short swim. I would have liked the water to be a little warmer, but otherwise it felt pretty nice. I even went under once, very quickly, and that wasn't so bad. I'm on my way to becoming a good little water baby!

Crosby Ian Dickinson

I HAVE MY FIRST BOY COUSIN!!!!

It only took 9 tries but we finally have Prince Charming for all of our plays.
Crosby Ian Dickinson was born last night, July 1st, at 11:30pm. He weighed 7lbs 15ozs and was 21 inches long. My aunt Michelle is doing well and uncle Ian is very proud.

I'm going to Colorado on Saturday to hang out with my only younger cousin. I'm so excited.

Well, I’m one month old and even though I live about 2,000 miles from most of my relatives, I’ve been loved and held by so many of them.

I’ve been so lucky to have so much love, attention and care given to me in my first month of life. I may not remember all of the details and all of the sweet things that were said, but I’ll never forget how it felt to be so loved and welcomed into the world.

Thank you to my whole, big, loving family. Including first cousins once removed like Emily Blong and grand uncles like Stu Howard and grand Auntie Tanina Divanzo and … wow. I’m gonna have my dad start figuring out how I’m related to everyone he knows.

First Smile

I had my first smile today. June 25th, 2008. I smiled at Dad during my one month check up. Oh, and by the way, the doctor said I was "perfect."

1 lunar month old...

Well, I'm almost one month old. I think I've got most of the world figured out now.

Mom, Dad, Papa, Nani Karen, Great Grandma Thelma and I went to Asheville on Tuesday to visit my uncle Michael, Aunt Alaya and cousins Lily and Abby. It was great. We mostly just hung out, had good food and talked. I'm still spending most of my energy listening and watching. We saw the Biltmore House the other day and I now have a better idea of how poor my parents really are. Our house isn't nearly 4 acres on the inside.

We're back in Durham now and we have about 4 more days of family in town before it's just me and my rookie parents. I've been holding back a lot of the crying and vomiting until it's just them. It should be quite entertaining.

My first YOUNGER cousin will be born soon. I'm getting really excited. I'm taking my first out-of-womb flight on July 5th to Colorado so that I can see her...I mean him/her. All nine of the cousins will be in Boulder at the same time. Crazy!

Gotta go...sleep, eat, poop, repeat...

Beach Trip

Mazie had her first trip to the beach. Her Uncle Ty-Ty made an incredible fish boil and we all had a lot of fun.
